Nobody's Here but Me - Cindy Sherman

This is film was about photographer Cindy Sherman's work. The film started out by describing her initial arrival in New York after college. She was very shocked by the treatment that she received on the streets, and quickly changed the way she acted when she went out, creating a "street persona". She would dress in suits, wear boys haircuts, and act mean to remain untouched/ bothered on the streets. I think that this is what kickstarted her feature altering photography.

When she first started altering her self in photos, she would wear makeup and wigs to disguise herself. She said that when she looked in the mirror she didn't want to see herself. Her photos quickly came to revolve around America's (specifically men) view on women. She began to take more "gruesome" and uncomfortable, thought invoking photos because she wanted to challenge her audience more than she had in the beginning of her work. Used fake breasts and asses to incorporate substitutes for herself within her photos.
